RE: Jobless Rate Down?

Yes, it has been almost a year since this thread was begun. However, I have two points of advice that still stand:
1. Avoid Fox News like the plague. They are a misinformation machine.
2. The job market in Houston, TX is fantastic, and it has suffered far less than other industries. Although right now oil & gas is only about 1% of GDP, it is also predicted to be about 25% of the job growth over the next 5 years. In fact, as it stands now, oil & gas are headed into their highest growth period in history (like all markets, they tend to rise and fall sharply from time-to-time) and will be going strong until around 2022 to 2025.

So, if anyone reading this is looking for a "job", now you know where to start. Good luck.

It's certainly depressing!  Everyday the news is the same.  Markets down. nobody can find a job.  If you want to start a business, is this a good time?

I saw that too, but could that just mean that people are running out of State unemployment and therefor are not being counted anymore.  How do they determine the job rate?

I don't see any major change around me either.  It's sad and I hope the economy turns quickly for the better.

I noticed that on Fox News this morning they reported that the jobless rate was down.  Is anyone experiencing that in your area?  In New Mexico things are terrible.  No one is being hired.  Seems like all the companies are just waiting to see what the economy does.
