Now that is scary but I'm also intrigue how the phone calls are connected to the draining of the account in the bank. I read the article but it doesn't explain how the scammers get the money while the victim's phone is busy.

What do your phone lines have to do with your bank account? I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm just not seeing the connection with the two.

Saw this in a BBB report:
Apparently scammers keep your phone lines busy with phone calls while they drain your bank account.
